How to upgrade to business class by using Asia Miles? 如何用亞洲萬里通升等？

I (Micky) have been a big fan of Cathay Pacific ever since I was studying in Melbourne, Australia. On average, I travelled twice a year between Taiwan and Australia. The great benefit for being loyal to a specific airline is that you can earn loyalty points every time you travel with them – hence the term: Loyalty Points! I had to travel back home for family reason this fall and I decided to use all the points I had accumulated over the past few years to upgrade my flight to Business Class from Hong Kong back to Toronto.

從在澳洲讀書開始，就常常搭乘國泰或是新航的班機往返墨爾本和台北，這兩家航空公司的服務真的是好的沒話說！而現在搬到多倫多了，也還好有國泰駐點，讓我和老公可以繼續享受國泰的服務！2012年11月這次因為家裡有事情需要回去一趟，那些從以前就開始累積的亞洲萬里通點數剛好有機會派上用場。

The fact is one way upgrade from Hong Kong to Toronto or vice versa needs a lot of points. I could have chosen to upgrade my trip for Hong Kong – Taipei or vice versa, but it’s such a short trip (about 1.5 hours) and I personally thought it was a bit waste of the points. It’s too short to enjoy the great service.

其實從香港-多倫多（或是行程顛倒）單程升等也是需要不少點數，雖然說台北到香港升等點數不多，但總覺得才1個半多小時的飛機升等有些可惜，好像享受不到什麼就要下飛機了，因此決定只升等回程香港-多倫多。

Following are the steps to upgrade to Business Class using your Asia Miles:

1. Book your tickets first of course! But when you’ve already booked your tickets, let your agent (if you used an agent) know that you are planning to upgrade. Normally, you have to pay high a fee for upgrading. Ask your agent to check whether the flight still has seats available and leave a note on their system that you are going to upgrade.
2. You have to have paid for your tickets before you call Asia Miles’ customer service. Have your membership number and booking reference on hand before you call Asia Miles.

3. After the phone call with Asia Miles’ customer service, wait for 2-3 days and they will email you the new e-ticket!

以下是用亞洲萬里通升等的步驟：

1. 需要先訂好機票，但在訂位的時候要先告知想用亞洲萬里通升等到商務艙，這裡要注意的是如果想用點數升等，就必須買比較貴的艙等。請訂位人員幫忙看哪天有位置，並且留下註記說要用亞洲萬里通升等。
2. 付款開票之後，把訂位代碼記下來，接著打電話到亞洲萬里通的熱線 Canada - 1877 631 6283

3. 告知亞洲萬里通會員號碼以及訂位代碼之後，客服人員會從那邊升等，大約過2-3天之後，就會email新的電子機票啦
