Living Like Judy – The Garland Suite at The Lenox Hotel

The Lenox is a truly luxurious experience. Located in Boston’s Back Bay, on the corner of Exeter and Boylston Streets, this gorgeous 11 story hotel was originally built in 1900, by the owner of New York’s Waldorf-Astoria, Lucias Boomer. At the time it was considered Boston’s tallest building and was named after Lady Sarah Lennox, King George III’s wife. If it is good enough to be named after Royalty, it was good enough for S&C.

這趟Boston的旅程，最讓我們滿意以及頂級的服務就是在The Lenox住宿的經驗了！位於Back Bay區，在Exeter & Boylston的轉角處，這間11層樓高的飯店於1900年由紐約的Waldorf-Astoria飯店所蓋。在當時，這可是波士頓最高的建築，之後為紀念Lady Sarah Lenox – 喬治三世的太太，而改名為Lenox。

We had actually no idea which hotel we were going to stay in and pursued our purchasing process like we usually do – Online. We usually start the process by selecting a preferred location and The Lenox offers guests a perfect central location. Steps away from Newbury Street (great food and shopping), Boston Public Library and Copley Subway Station, the city is all around. Very safe, very convenient and a great spot to start your urban explorations!

在剛確認這段行程的時候，我們一點也不曉得要住在哪家飯店，通常我們都會在網路作些功課，看看想要住在哪區，我們的要求不多，只要是方便、安全離地鐵站近就好，而The Lenox就落在我們想要住的區域！離波士頓的購物和美食街 – Newbury Street 僅離一個街口，波士頓公共圖書館和Copley站就在旁邊。

From the moment we stepped out of our taxi in front The Lenox, we knew we were in for something special. Met with a pleasant welcome and some sort of crack at Mikey’s struggle to get out of the taxi (classic Bostonian humour), we would come to really anticipate every encounter with the doorman during our stay. Quick witted and even more eager to provide the best insight, the staff that man the door at The Lenox were one of the more memorable experiences. The Lenox knows that great rooms are a dime-a-dozen, but it’s the people that make the experience unique and unforgettable.

從計程車下車那一刻起，我們就知道這是間很特別的飯店！非常友善但又不失幽默的門房，我們對這裡員工印象最深刻的應該就是門房先生莫屬（還記得他跟Mikey說Atlantic Fish Co走快點只要5秒鐘的有趣對話嗎？）Lenox除了客房舒適的裝潢之外，就是員工們誠摯的問候每位在Lenox住宿的客人，讓旅客們覺得這就像家一樣！

When we arrived at The Lenox, we were briskly guided up the steps, through the revolving door and to the front desk. It was a standard check-in to our ‘Classic Suite’ except for one small detail – An upgrade to the JUDY GARLAND SUITE! The staff at the front desk, simply stated – “We’re pleased to tell you that you have been upgraded to our Judy Garland Suite.” (Stay cool Stay cool – we thought!). No indication why, meant – no questions. Take it and enjoy! Before being handed the room keys, the staff then asked, “Would you like a glass of wine while you settle in?” If one thing remains true about S&C, we enjoy a glass of vino at any chance!

走上階梯推開旋轉門，這，就是Lenox了！一如往常，我們先到櫃台check-in，還記得當初我們訂的房型是’Classic Suite’，但我們兩都不知道Lenox準備好要給我們一個大驚喜，當櫃台人員緩緩的說：很榮幸的告訴你們，你們已經被升級到Judy Garland Suite！（如果你不知道Judy Garland，她是非常有名的女星，曾飾演過綠野仙蹤的女主角，更多訊息請點我）

挖塞！！！！！！我和Mikey腦海中除了出現滿滿的疑問之外，就是驚喜的說不出話來！在拿到房卡之前，櫃台又開口了….：飯店招待兩位入住時各享用杯酒，請問是要紅酒還是白酒呢？我們的服務生會將酒送上房間。又是個驚喜！當然啦，我們兩個最喜歡小酌一杯！

In 1965, Judy Garland made The Lenox Hotel her home for about 3 months and the owners have honoured this American Great, by naming this amazing suite after her! We’ve looked around trying to find what was the main reason for her extended stay, but haven’t yet found it. Please leave a comment if you know anything that we don’t! 在1965年時，Judy Garland在這間房間住上了3個多月，因此Lenox將這間命名為Judy Garland Suite，但我們不知道是什麼原因讓Judy Garland決定在這邊長住，如果你知道的話，歡迎留言告訴我們！下圖可以看到米奇馬上就把這當成自己家一樣！

Mikey couldn’t help but get a shot in himself! If you can’t tell from the photos, we were absolutely thrilled for the upgrade and owe The Lenox big time!

Mikey也是開心的吵著米奇幫他照相！應該不難看出我們兩臉上的表情對這升等的驚喜有多麼的興奮！

Remember that glass of wine we mentioned? Well within about 5 minutes of getting to our suite, a bellboy dropped off two glasses of wine and some treats. When it comes to a luxury travel experience, its all about the details!

還記得飯店招待的酒嗎？在我們抵達房間之後的五分鐘，馬上有人送來了兩杯酒和些小點心。說真的，我們兩個都覺得這真是非常周到而且頂級的服務，一切都注重在細節上！

The suite itself is located in room 423 on the 4th floor and was spectacular. The bedroom, which sits on the north-west corner of the building and is anchored by a beautiful fireplace and hearth – which unfortunately doesn’t work. The attention to detail is remarkable and the room itself make it difficult to even want to leave! There is something about upholstered headboards like the one you see below that really ground a bedroom. So comfy, so classy and so rich in history!

這間套房位於4樓的423號房，座落在建築的西北角落，圖中可以看到房間裡還有個舊式的壁爐，可惜因為安全的考量，飯店已經沒有繼續使用。房間裡所有的小細節都讓人難移開注意力，甚至是不想離開房間！還有啊，看看那張king size的床，舒服到每天不想起床，我想我大概可以了解為什麼Judy Garland會在這邊長住了，因為太舒服了嘛！（大笑）

Here is a quick shot of the living room. Had we honestly had more time in the hotel room, we would have kicked back here, but we took Boston by storm and by the time we returned to the hotel each night, we simply wanted to drive into the King Size bed. Wouldn’t you?

接下來下圖是客廳的照片，可惜我們待不夠久，所以沒有好好的使用這間客廳，因為行程都滿滿滿，所以每晚回到飯店都只想直奔那張king size的床…

這台休旅車可是Lenox的車，看看那車牌，是不是在適合不過了呢？

The concierge was extremely helpful, but we actually had more interaction with the front desk staff. Across the board, however, the staffs were all top notch!

飯店還有點很棒的是，每間客房都有自己專屬的管家，有任何大小事情、疑難雜症，問管家就對了！

The Lenox boasts both a first-class bar/lounge called the City Bar and a great restaurant call City Table. The whole weekend we were in Bosotn, City Bar seemed to be bumping and brought in a mix of tourists and locals looking for a spot to start the night off!

在飯店大廳各有間酒吧和餐廳 – City Bar & City Table，也都是一流的服務，晚上甚至有很多不是住在Lenox的客人會專程來這邊吃飯喝酒！

The Lenox Hotels boasts a truly rich heritage, being the temporary home of greats like Rich Auerbach, Babe Ruth, George H.W. Bush, John Travolta, John Kerry, Adam Sandler, Andy Garcia, Marc Cohn, Patti Lupone, Anne Hathaway, and of course, Judy Garland!

Lenox豐富的歷史和無微不至的照顧，真的就讓客人們覺得像在自己一樣！最後我們還發現很多名人也住過Judy Garland Suite - Rich Auerbach, Babe Ruth, George H.W. Bush, John Travolta, John Kerry, Adam Sandler, Andy Garcia, Marc Cohn, Patti Lupone, Anne Hathaway…等等，當然，還有Judy Garland囉！
